“Alyssa has been an integral part of my life and mental health journey for over a year.
While our core focus has been coping with anxiety, she has helped me navigate a number of unexpected personal and professional changes with skill, compassion, and support. She has challenged me to recognize my patterns, and grow from hard lessons. I would recommend Alyssa to anyone seeking a safe space to explore and improve their mental and emotional health”
“Working with Alyssa has been life changing for me. I found her at a very difficult time in my life. I felt lost and unsure of myself.
I was in an unhappy marriage, dealing with family dysfunction, scary changes in my career, drinking too often, struggling with insecurities, and confused about symptoms that I learned were related to perimenopause. Alyssa helped me to change all that. She helped me understand where my struggles came from, how to cope and how to heal. Her caring heart and expertise have assisted me in becoming the best version of myself. I have learned so much! I am forever grateful and so proud of the work we’ve done together”
“Being male and struggling with sobriety, it was difficult to acknowledge and seek out help.
When I met Alyssa, her ability to create a safe space for me to openly share my thoughts and feelings was crucial to my progress. I felt supported and encouraged to work toward my goals throughout our sessions. Together, we identified the causes and worked through the feeling of guilt and shame. She embraced the work and was there to encourage and teach me how to overcome my addiction. We worked through the trauma, the guilt and shame and offered support the whole time. With some hard work and practice, I eventually came through a very dark time. I’m fortunate to have met Alyssa, she showed me how to look at people and life through a different set of eyes, how to better myself and how to change my life for the better and find more positive influences in my life. Incredibly fortunate to have met such a compassionate person, who is so easy to share with and so very passionate about her profession”
As a knowledgable, caring Therapist Alyssa has been a godsend. She has helped in working to restore my confidence and “remember who I am”, a cornerstone of my continued growth.
Alyssa’s style is one of forthright honesty, tempered with compassion. One of the things I appreciate most about Alyssa is that she does not shy away from the tough subjects. She gives clarification and advice, but allows me to come to my own conclusion on how the new information is best applied to my life. With Alyssa to help navigate the bumpy roads of life, I feel confident in finding my footing and moving toward a happier tomorrow”
“I was referred to Alyssa a few months ago for my anxious feelings and being chronically hyper-active
As soon as I read Alyssa's on-line bio I felt I would like her and connect with her. It stated basically everything I think, feel and believe in. She has been everything her bio reflected and more
I am 60 years old and just got an official ADHD diagnosis, although Ive known I had this my whole life.
I have treated myself to therapy my whole life, I find it a gift we give ourselves. Alyssa is different from other therapists in an amazing way. She has understood me, my personal frustrations and challenges very quickly and completely. I feel she actually gets me and hears me. It's a very validating feeling.
I have found her to be extremely warm and caring, yet completely professional. She is an amazing focused listener and has shared with me many practical ideas and tips to help my better handle my spinning brain and hyper-active physical body.
An example: although yoga and meditation are wonderful , and I will work to continue practicing these...Alyssa is the first person to point out that kick boxing and dance and other more physical activities are important for me to release some of my excess energy. Brilliant!
I truly felt she understood my challenges right from the start. On our last session I had a rare experience. Through Alyssa's caring words and understanding I was able to really feel my lifelong shame and overwhelm with my ADHD issues. I actually got emotional. This disorder has affected me since childhood. I am just learning how severely the hyperactivity has impacted me. Alyssa talked to me about co-regulation. This is a new concept to me. We also discussed some childhood issues that likely added to my nervous energy and my need to have assistance in self-regulation.
Alyssa offered to do energy work with me right then and there in her office. It was truly amazing. It works. I went from feeling completely emotional, hyper and overwhelmed to purely and wonderfully relaxed. It was quite something. It was my first experience with Reiki and Im now a believer.
I am excited to continue working with Alyssa. She is very wise and has shared excellent ideas with my on ways to improve various areas of my life, and, she has a healing kind of energy. I will say this is not something I have found before in working with other therapists. Its really special and Im so thankful I have her in my life”
